Guest guest
I've seen some video of that second explosion. It was much more powerful than the first one. I've also read that this plant was supposed to have been decommissioned this month. That story made me remember something. Some years ago I read that the Japanese were having problems with some of their pipes and equipment. The problem was that the metal used wasn't handling the radiation well and was becoming brittle and fragile. I don't know based on those few stories how much work was done to replace the bad pipes and other gear. I can't help but think that using salt water in the plants didn't also have a hand in that decay of the equipment. Now there is some worry about radiation coming to the US West Coast, primarily California, due to the wind patterns over the Pacific. In a message dated 3/14/2011 2:27:41 A.M.
