Guest guest
It depends on why she can't go to sleep as far as the insomnia. Is she nervous at bedtime, jittery, thoughts won't slow down? Does she exercise regularly? What is her diet like? The apnea is usually due to carrying too much weight. Insomnia and apnea can cause chronic conditions, what is her health like other than sleeping? Guest guest
Hi Max, When my ex had a 5 week bout of radiation and it caused terrible insomnia (he couldn't sleep at all any time), his naturopath told him to get up every morning when the sun came up. Go outside without any glasses on and take a 20 minute walk. When it was time to go to bed, he was supposed to go to bed at 10 p.m. and prepare an hour before that by doing a relaxing thing, like reading or something, but not in the bedroom. When he went to bed, he was supposed to do nothing else (no radio, TV, etc.) but try to relax and sleep. If he didn't go to sleep in 20 minutes he was supposed to leave the bedroom and do something relaxing in the other room and then after 20 minutes try again in the bedroom. The rational for this routine was to try to reset the internal clock which is totally damaged by the radiation. Trying for 20 minutes at a time was because he said that sleep is like a train it only comes every 20 minutes and if you miss one you might as well get up and then wait for the next one. After about 5 days of this routine, it worked. He had no further sleeping problems. Regards, Sharon (Ontario) Canada chronic insomnia I have a friend who's battling Uterine Cancer and just had a hysterotomy. She is suffering from chronic insomnia. She's been through the chemo and everything. Anyone have any ideas for the insomnia?
