Something to bear in mind though is that in recent elections, a party more sympathetic to radical Muslims has come to power in Turkey. Just how that will shake out remains to be seen.

I don't think Turkey believes it will ever be fully integrated into the European

Union, and so they are planting a foot in both camps.

Radical Muslims, meanwhile, or going into these countries with a type of facism

and promising all sorts of things that they have no intention of delivering in

the long term.
