Guest guest
Again, what they want isn't the same thing people in the US think of as freedoms. The push in Egypt and elsewhere is for a government based on Islam to one degree or another. There are even some such groups in the US who want to overthrow the existing system and replace it with a Sharia system. In a message dated 3/9/2011 4:42:31 P.M. Guest guest
Exactly. I've read some of the explanations on their own websites and they are calling for "submission to God" in all things including government. They want government based on the Koran and Surahs. That has worked so well in Afghanistan under the Taliban, in Iran, and elsewhere. In the US the Founders believed that our freedoms were ordained by God but that government had to be secular, though it acknowledged where those freedoms came from and was supposed to defend them. This is a completely different concept that what they are calling for. In a message dated 3/10/2011 3:17:41 A.M.
