Guest guest
A few days before there was another 7 magnitude quake to the northeast of this one in Argentina. That one happened east of the Andes mountains a fair distance from the main fault line. It is also interesting to note they say the Chilean economy is booming because of the rebuilding from the magnitude 8.8 quake last year. Really that should be in spite of the quake. This is typical thinking when one only looks at what is seen and ignore the unseen. The seen is all the money going into rebuilding, which is a temporary boost. What isn't seen is the long term effect of money having to be spent on rebuilding instead of other things. The boost might be great for the construction industry, but what about the businesses that were destroyed, the economic loss to the people who lost their homes, and businesses seeing less activity because money is going to rebuilding instead of clothing, cars, etc.? " Most people don't realize that money flows like a river in an enclosed loop with its value being siphoned off by inflation and governments printing too much money to cover their debt. As you say, this boom down there is really a bust in the making. But people will not see that for a while yet. But if they want an example of what's about to happen to them, all they need to do is look at New Orleans. Administrator
