Guest guest
Interesting. I'm not sure why the drug gang is worried, unless they are trying to build public support in Mexico and maybe fool some of the denser US politicians and bureaucrats. I've read that only about 2% of drug crimes ever go to court and few of those actually end in convictions. http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/failed-state-watch-how-much-longer-for-mexico-part-one/ Meanwhile, the US sends some $400 million to Mexico each year to fight the drug gangs but it doesn't seem to be helping. Perhaps if that same $400 million had been budgeted over the last many years the border fence could have been completed by now. I don't mean that foolish, expensive and in practice ineffective "electronic fence" of cameras and sensors, but a real solid fence. That would mean more border patrol resources at the few passage points while the national guard could rotate though patrol duties along the fence with a border agent with each platoon or so to actually handle arrests.
