Guest guest
This is also ethnic and religious violence. People in the southern part of the country tend to be Christian or animist and also black african. In the north and most of the government is Muslim with a strong arab population. Its interesting that the UN is moving comparatively quickly on Lybia but the genocide against Christians and Animists in Sudan has been going on for decades and has spread to the Darfur region. There is also evidence that Lybia was supporting the ethnic cleansing in the Darfur area. In a message dated 3/18/2011 6:24:19 P.M. Sudan doesn't have as many proven reserves and has fewer wells. Plus, the Sudanese keep populating themselves at an astronomical rate despite the fac that there has been this genocide going on, and western nations are getting tired of feeding them, just like they are getting tired of feeding the Ethiopians. Guest guest
It was feeding them in the first place that caused the population boom and failed UN agriculture programs that degraded the local land even more. As food becomes more scarce, not just high priced but actually scarce because of ethanol and EPA and FDA regulation on farms causes small and medium farms to collapse, then things will get heated here in the US. Then it will be question of if the government will keep sales of foodstuffs to meet domestic demand first or be bleeding hearts and ship our food overseas to these other countries while letting prices skyrocket here at home, or even impose rationing.
