Let's be precise. Eurodicatom says that " médecin attaché " has no equivalent

in English. This physician is considered as responsible of the patients the

supervision of them has been trusted to him, he is also co-responsible of

the management of the whole department, and refers to the Chief of the

Department (Chef de service) or to the " chef de clinique " . Don't know if it

helps :-))
