Purines used to be blamed for gout, but from what I've read, they

only become a problem once someone has gout.

Actually, I looked into this several years ago out of curiosity, but

now I can't seem to dig up any of the research materials I'd

found. At any rate, Price's healthy primitives all went after

high-purine foods, so purines by themselves simply aren't a cause for concern.
