He doesn't get it. These painful cuts will mostly affect the democrat voting blocs. Trying to make those cuts will only see more people in the streets and probably riots and violence. That's what the dems want because that way they can force their demands on the taxpayers as a means of ending the violence and chaos.

Not long ago they began using the courts to impose their goals that couldn't pass the legislatures. They also know that rioting works in the US. The tactic has been used many times and the rioters went unpunished and were actually rewarded with "economic stimulus zones" and other handouts, that and just the feeling of power of having used violence to achieve one's ends.
