A lot of the cell phones as long as the battery is in it, it can be tracked or even used to listen in on its surroundings. Aside from that, police are now downloading data from cell phones even at routine traffic stops.

Another concern about all this is the datamining that is going on, including by government. There is a Google and CIA project called Recorded Future that looks at websites, blogs, etc. and goes through all the data looking for trends, and I'm sure also spying on individuals.

What concerns me most really is how so many of the younger people don't even care that corporations and government are watching them so minutely. Its funny how on one hand they'll scream bloody murder if someone asks them not to cuss in public or tries to block porn on school computers, but they don't care about loss of privacy.

I have an old fashioned cell phone. You can only use it to call people, and I only use it in case of emergency. Mine cannot be tracked when it's off, thank goodness. But my phone comes from long before the iphone was even invented.Administrator
