A recent report said that 71% of the US has snow on the ground now. I missed if they said when the last time this has happened. We've already had as much snow this year as last around here, maybe more. Most of the snow in this area comes toward the end of January or later. They were rather early this year.

A lot has fallen in the mountains and the Mississippi tributary basin. That means there may be a fair amount of flooding this spring. I remember there being localized flooding last year as well.
