Hi there!

Could anyone tell me the word for " Esquirlectomia " in English? I would very much

appreciate it! So far, I could only found out that it's " elevacion de fragmentos

de fracturas de craneo " , so it is not " craniectomy " or " craniotomy " . Any ideas?

Thanks a million in advance!

Isabel

I don't know of an equivalent term in English, so I would say

" removal of bone fragments " as here:

<< At the time of debridement the surgeon may elect to remove fragments of

bone that are superficial and can be extracted without precipitating further

tissue damage or bleeding. >>

there:

<< Open depressed skull fractures present a significant risk of infection.

They are generally treated with operative irrigation, debridement, and

removal of the depressed fragments. >>

everywhere?
