Guest guest
Well, to some extent, the US outclasses by a wide margin most other countries in terms of aircraft and training. The wreckage may be too destroyed to ever know if AAA fire played a role, and the two black boxes are likely destroyed or will soon be destroyed. The US often bombs aircraft that have gone down in hostile territory. Also, the US often mandates that exported aircraft be somewhat crippled compared to their American cousins. A slight counterpoint is that an Israeli F-15 on a training exercise sliced through an A-4, losing almost all of the right wing, and landed at double the usual landing speed. The landing sheared off the tailhook, and stopped just short of the net at the end of the runway. The manufacturer was asked about that scenario previously, and had replied it was impossible. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/us-military-says-plane-crashes-libya-not-shot-20110322-034900-096.html "US jet crashes in Libya due to apparent equipment malfunction, both crew safe and in US hands" Ever notice how many of our military jets "crash" due to "malfunctions" in combat missions? Makes me kind of wonder why anyone would want to buy a military jet from the US? But they must be good though, because they never seem to get "shot down" by anti-aircraft fire, although somehow, when we fire on military jets manufactured by us but owned by other countries, we ALWAYS shoot them down.
