Old data. This has been known for years. Only difference was when the Bush Administration pointed it out it was called warmongering against Iran, etc. Now suddenly its a "new" crisis. Perhaps this administration is going to try to overthrow the Shahs, the main backers of Hezbollah and some other terrorist groups, so they won't be able to stir up trouble before this administration rams through Palestinian statehood at the UN.

US presidents since at least have been manic about reaching a peace settlement between Israel and its neighbors in order to use it as big feather in their legacy cap. Never mind all they have done is disadvantage Israel and encourage the terrorists. Granted Palestinian statehood would be the crowning insult and final mockery of the UN being worse the useless.

Still, there is some evidence that Hezbollah is planning to attack Israel at least through Lebanon in an attempt to draw pressure off of Syria. Syria has factions allied with Iran, so that is possible.

American officials say there is strong evidence that Shiite militias in Iraq are using Iranian weapons to attack U.S. troops, comments that followed reports that Iraqi security forces began cracking down on the groups near Iran's border.
