Guest guest
Hi Cat, I am allergic to sulpha-based antibiotics and I recently learned that epsom salts have sulpha in them. My son, too, is allergic to sulpha-based antibiotics. I have taken a couple of epsom salt baths with him (he was only 3), and I got nauseated afterwards. Do you think it's related? He seems to be ok, but after I learned about the sulpha in the salts, now I'm a bit concerned. Also, I visited a mineral hot springs in So Cal a few months ago, and after a few minutes in the warmest of the pools, I got very large purple marks on my legs that looked like massive bruises. They disappeared a day or two later. No pain was associated with them. Any ideas what they might have been? Thanks, Kristy talk about chelation: Old School: Epsom Salt Baths I know people get crazy on when you bring up chelation...but Epsom Salt baths (old school chelation) are wonderful! My autistic son takes epsom salt baths several times a week and they completely calm down his central nervous system. Tics and stims are reduced tremendously and he is so calm and relaxed. If we lived near hot mineral springs I could do that for him, but this is the next best thing. And even better yet, a huge bag of epsom salt at Eckerd Drugs is only $1.98! Guest guest
Hi Donna, I remember a parent once telling me they asked Dr G about epsom salt baths, and his opinion was they may not be of any help, but was not opposed to them either. I think I tried my son one week and noticed nothing, but think I will try it again now the summer is almost here (easier to observe and not so pressed for hitting bedtime!) > > Does Dr. G have a position on Epsom Salt Baths for kids? > > > > > --- In , catherine quinn <quinn.cat1968@> wrote: > > > > I know people get crazy on when you bring up chelation...but > Epsom Salt baths (old school chelation) are wonderful! > > > > My autistic son takes epsom salt baths several times a week and > they completely calm down his central nervous system. Guest guest
For uncircumcised little boys, though, it can be very irritating, so be sure to rinse that area very well, and if they seem to be grabbing a lot, you may have to cut back and test to see if this is contributing to irritation. --- catherine quinn <quinn.cat1968@...> wrote: > Dr G told me that epsom salt baths are perfectly > fine. > > cat > > __________________________________________________
