Guest guest
If we land troops there, you can bet that many of these protesters will change sides back to the government's side to fight the invader. By the same token, if we take down Assad, we'll be in the same fix as Iraq: enough troops to win the fight but not nearly enough to secure the peace. There is another thought. Perhaps there are those who fear the coming Caliphate will indeed be hostile and they are attempting to establish a land route out of Iraq for our troops. Turkey is unreliable and the Persian Gulf too easy to block, so they are seeking a "friendly" nation in Syria, perhaps one with troops already in place. In a message dated 6/18/2011 12:17:40 P.M.
