Guest guest
They both also promised to ban “all forms of pornography and prostitution, infanticide, abortion and other types of coercion or stolen innocence†and only appoint conservative judges. While pornography is a moral issue, I feel that in general, it should not be within the government's purview. The government simply does not have the resources to enforce an absolute prohibition. Just yesterday I read in the newspaper that a rape kit in one case took twelve years before it was finally processed. Pornography of people that have not consented should remain illegal (this includes children). I would rather bulk up the resources spent within the current laws, rather than put more strain on the system. Pornography would likely just move underground, possibly towards organized crime. Since I am a biromantic transgendered woman, there are no points for guessing where I stand on gay marriage. :PIn marriage, it is hard to argue that marriage is strictly a religious institution since atheists can get married, and the concept of marriage is fairly universal regardless of religion. From a secular point of view, it seems odd for a government to recognize and confer benefits and responsibilities on one committed couple that is straight, while denying the same to a gay or lesbian couple that has been in a committed relationship for decades.
