Guest guest
Two things that really helped me with my daughter's sleep is that we put lavendar in her room. Pure lavendar, not the lavendar mixed with other scents. And we darkened her windows so that no light gets through. It helped us a lot. Guest guest
Hi Jeanne, I have a son who has Dyspraxia although he does not have ADHD my 8 year old daughter does. We also have the same problem with her getting up any where from 4am and coming into our room asking is it time to get up. (my eyes look as if they are hanging out of my head most days) We have tried numerous things, at the moment we are having a little success with putting an alarm clock in her room. She knows she is not allowed out of her room until the alarm sounds. But we will however if she wakes earlier allow her to watch a video or read a book in her room. If she comes out of her room into one of the other children's then she has a privilege taken from her. Usually it is something like her not being able to do something with us as she is always seeking our attention this works the best. We have her under a specialist at the moment and she has given us some great ideas and slowly we are starting to see some good results..........like not having an all in argument every morning while trying to get ready for school. We usually have this every morning and we are always late because of it even though she is up hours early. I hope you find something that works for you child, I know how hard it can be. Guest guest
Hi. My son also had a terrible time sleeping and when he would finally fall asleep he would toss and turn and wake up all night. I took him to an allergist for what I thought was an unrelated problem, ear infections and chronic sinus problems. When the allergist treated those symptoms he was able to sleep. I did not know that his sleeplessness was related to a medical problem, I even thought that he was hyper. Now he sleeps great unless he has a cold or is sick and then we go back to the earlier sleep behavior. I hope this helps.
Guest guest
Deborah – have you ever tried the Tempur Pedic mattress and pillow? Those are wonderful!!! So comfortable! It molds to your body and holds you in the correct position. Perhaps that would help with the headaches. Subject: Re: Sleep Problems Yep, I tried one of those many years ago. Still had the headaches and didn't like the feel of it. So, back to a normal pillow I went. I can not stand those " neck " pillows either. Deborah
Guest guest
Thanks Gretchen, Did I tell you I finally got my Medicaid/Medipass papers the other day. My regular doctor takes it, but my neurologist doesn't. These doctors work back to back, so I'll find out what's going to happen next. The lawyers meeting in Miami is on May 5th. I should find out something about my workmens' comp then. I'll keep you in tune with things. At least I'm not the only one waking up at weird hours. lol
