Not all of the collective bargaining is being taken away. The union can still negotiate wages, just not fringe benefits. Why is this important? Because at the same time the union were yielding on increases in contributions for health care and such, they were demanding viagra for its members and other things that make up supposed savings they had just given up. In other words, they could demand more and more benefits that would defeat any attempt at budget restraint.

As for the Democrats behavior, they should be arrested and dragged back to the state house. Even the Republicans in DC stayed and voted against the Obama agenda even though they knew they would lose. If violence comes from their actions, especially from the unionists, community organizers and Marxist/Anarchists that are piling into the area, they should be arrested and charged as coconspirators in the crimes and sentenced accordingly, or better simply exiled from the country. What they are doing is what threatens the republic, not honest debate.
