Guest guest
A good point. Especially when the unemployment rate in Greece is 16% and expected to rise when the austerity measures kick in. Guest guest
Its the same thing that is happening in Wisconsin and other places. A couple of years ago when oil prices shot up and were hurting the timber industry, one of the mills near my place called in the workers. They were told that everyone needed to take a small paycut or the plant would have to close. Deciding that a little less pay was better than no job at all, they took the cut. The mill also stayed open. Others weren't so lucky. On the other hand, a company was opened to in Northern Alabama to make parts for small planes. Shortly afterward, it was unionized. The company had been having some trouble, mostly finding qualified workers but was on its way to success. The union put an end to that because of its demands. The company was closed in less than a year of being unionized. Now in that case I wouldn't really be surprised if that wasn't a set up by the big aircraft companies though. Gotta love those unions...
