Guest guest
As I've said before: kids these days of that age are more sexually active than parents want to believe. Some years ago it came out how much activity was going on at some of the schools around here and people were surprised, and promptly forgot about it. No telling what all is going on in some of the worse schools. In a message dated 2/20/2011 11:04:59 A.M. Guest guest
This story brings back a lot of memories for us. My daughter came home from playing with some of her friends in tears. When I asked her what was wrong she told me that this boy kept trying to kiss her. I talked to her more and told her if she felt uncomfortable with it I would talk to his parents and that she could talk more about it with her psychologist. She was 11 at the time. She went in to talk to her doctor and after a few minutes he had me come into the room. That was when I learned more happened then what she said. I took my daughter to her doctor, he stayed late just for her and the nurse and doctor examined her. I could hear her screaming during this. They said they didn't see any signs of rape but they needed to call the police. I wanted them to call the police. She is autistic ( at a time when autism wasn't very well known) because she didn't act like a normal child acted if they were raped the Hillsboro police department first dismissed the case. They didn't even bother filing the report. They boy who did this was 14. I kept calling the police and finally after getting nowhere talked to the chief. He took it serious. He sent her over to CARES unit where we found out a lot more happened then we first thought. They used dolls to act things out. Because language wasn't her strong suit she had trouble putting into words what happened, especially since she didn't understand any of if. All she knew was she felt uncomfortable, didn't like it and didn't understand why he tried to hurt her. We found out that there was penetration with his fingers vaginally and anally. We also found out that he kept trying to have Marcy touch him. The police decided to do something after this however the boy moved and the police couldn't find him. We were lucky that some of Marcy's friends knew where he was going to school so we told the police. Turned out that he was 14 and was mentally challeged. However this kid was a mile away from his house by himself, he found our house on his own when he asked for Marcy to go roller skating with him, and after he raped her he went to our neighbor to give Marcy a message, which was if anyone asked it was his twin brother who did it. Not what you would expect from a kid with a supposedly 40 IQ. The trial was a joke. They wouldn't press charges and send him to jail. Instead all they did was to say that he shouldn't be unsupervised with children under 10. Instead of the DA handling our case, his caseworker did. They were sitting around laughter and joking and never came over to see how my kids were. (My 8 year old son witnessed his sisters rape and was terrified and didn't know what to do) Then this boy, told his lawyer that because he was going through all this his parents were going to take him to Disneyland for a vacation. My kids in the meantime were having nightmares about this and he got to go to Disneyland. We always felt (Marcy as well and she is 28 now)that because of her autism they just overlooked the case and considered her not important enough to do something about it. This still affects her and we don't know if she has PTSD from it or not. Besides being autistic now she is schizoeffective bipolar type. Her doctors think she might be PTSD because she still has dreams about being attacked and raped. To finish this story years later and his family went into a car dealership where Marcy's friend worked. They were going to buy him a car for his 21st birthday. It is as we always thought that somehow they tricked the court into believing his IQ was only 40 and they got away with everything. > > http://www.kxan.com/dpp/news/crime/autistic-boy-claims-sexual-assault > > Autistic boy claims sexual assault > > Boy told mom four classmates touched, bullied him > > Updated: Saturday, 19 Feb 2011, 11:28 PM CST > Published : Saturday, 19 Feb 2011, 9:40 PM CST > > Ingles > > CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) - Stay at home mom Loe told KXAN her 10-year-old autistic son was bullied for years and was even sexually assaulted by some of his classmates at C.C. Guest guest
" This still affects her and we don't know if she has PTSD from it or not. Besides being autistic now she is schizoeffective bipolar type. Her doctors think she might be PTSD because she still has dreams about being attacked and raped. " Because of the way certain autistics process information and sensory data, you will never know what she is truly thinking until you are able to understand what she thinks. With me, all data goes through my own personal filter, and I have been made to understand that how I feel is different than how others feel. For me to speak back to them requires translating it into NT speak. It is hard for me because people still wind uip not understanding me. I feel that when two people are trying to communicate with each other that both should make equal attemptsto understand the other and make themselves understandable. Too often, NTs fall short and do not do their job. Administrator
Guest guest
Thank you. We help both of our kids as much as we can. Marcy knows she could tell us anything and therefore has been very open with us about what happened and how she feels. Though she doesn't have all the signs of PTSD she had nightmares still with similar themes. We will continue getting her the help she needs and will be there to support her.
