I think my son's bed wetting may have been a little

worse on celexA, come to think of it. at 15, it

finally resolved, tho. (Happened like 1 x in the past

year.) We just kept using the good nite pullups and

didn't worry about it. there is also a pill dr. g

offered to let us try, but i didn't want to put one

more chemical into him.

We noticed the opposite in a boy....unable to go or difficulty going

on demand....the sensation is altered somehow.

I know also that a pharma company studied this with their ssri to

see if it could be actaully prescribed for bedwetting, but

apparently it has the different effects on everyone.

When my son was on Celexa, we increased the dose and he could not

pee. We wound up switching to Prozac and it alleviated the problem,

although I still beleive it changes the sensation.

I noticed it with increases, and it would usually

resolve in a week or so. Even more so, though, I see

an increase in bedwetting in one with bacterial

infections (sinus, UTI), and also, when I had PANDAS,

I could not feel the urge to go.

But if the timing coincides with the SSRI increase,

I'd lean towards that ... especially with the

difficulty waking. How long since the increase?

Gaylen, Barb, and ,

Thanks so much for your responses. We upped her Celexa on May 1. She had

been wetting approximately 1x month before that but for the past week it

has been nightly. We have a phone consult with Dr. G next week and he

dropped her celexa back to 1 tablet daily instead of 1 1/4 every other day

and 1 every other day. I hope this helps. This SSRI has been the best

match for her with the exception of this wetting and difficulty

waking. Any ideas or pointers help. I appreciate the insight.
