Guest guest
Hi, , No, is a term coined by Dr. G and not yet a " recognized " diagnosis. Dr. Goldberg uses other, currently recognized (and perfectly appropriate) terms/codes for billing purposes. For my son, he uses " Allergy Syndrome " and " Viral Syndrome " . On the very first invoice, he also included " Neuro-Cognitive Dysfunction " . I notice (looking at the invoice form) that there are also codes for " Immune Dysfunction " and " CFIDS " . I'm guessing it varies depending on what medical issues the child is presenting with. Guest guest
What kind of testing is needed to back up the immune and cognitive codes? Also, has anyone been able to get IMGG covered? How? > > > > Does Dr. G use the term as a diagnosis on forms that go to > insurance companies? > > > > - > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > Talk is cheap. Guest guest
I would imagine a complete immunological blood panel would be sufficient justification for an immune dysfunction diagnosis. I think you can find the complete blood work-up recommendations in the files section, or at www.nids.net/www.neuroimmunedr.com. Guest guest
On the subject of IMGG, has anyone read up on continuous sub-Q gamma gobulin (available in Europe)? It keeps the IgG levels as high as IVIG, is cheaper, is as safe as the IMGG, less painful than either IVs or shots and kids as young as 6 have been taught to administer it themselves (it is done at home). Overall, patients who formally were doing IVIG are much more satisfied with the sub-Q method. I wonder when it will be available here? - friendsofcam <friendsofcam@...> wrote: What kind of testing is needed to back up the immune and cognitive codes? Guest guest
Our insurance covers the IMGG injections - we get them once every 4 weeks! The office does the billing and our insurance pays. Guest guest
actually, wasn't coined first by the CFIDS folks? They were going to rename themselves ? I've also heard Neuro-Cognitive Immune Dysf. Synd used as well. is an umbrella term for a number of immune related disorders. Hence is not a DX code. You wouldn't write 'lung cancer' as a DX - you would instead notate that it was NSCLC ...... someone used to have a book of the DX codes ... the 2 codes Dr G uses with my son I think mean 'immune dysfunction' and 'allergic something' doris maryland > > > > > > Does Dr. G use the term as a diagnosis on forms that go to > > insurance companies? > > > > > > - > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > > Talk is cheap. I think they were (are?) going to use " NDS " , but of course, pronounced " " .
Guest guest
Argie, How did you get them to cover it? What codes are used for IMGG and what testing was needed before covering it? > > > > > > Does Dr. G use the term as a diagnosis on forms that go to > > insurance companies? > > > > > > - > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > > Talk is cheap. Guest guest
When ever the insurance denies a payment, my husband calls them. Dr. Goldberg's office has been billing our insurance now for almost 4 years and what ever codes they use work for us. Remember, most insurance companies will deny claims, but when the patient pursues it they usually comply. We even got our insurance to partially pay private speech and Neurofeedback for our daughter (she does not have a label/diagnosis). Be persistent!!! Re: is a dx?
