The figure is up sharply from last week's 112. Of 214 cases where information was available, 195 deaths were associated with the H1N1 swine flu infection. The Health Protection Agency said that, despite the jump in deaths, rates of flu in the UK appeared to be declining. There were 387 calls about flu to Warwickshire's out of hours service last week, the lowest of the year so far. There were no cases of flu at the walk-in centre in Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry.
