Guest guest
We've had a number of snows throughout the winter, but none of them too severe. Today I went out to test the snow blower, which we haven't used. There was a leak in the gas tank which I attempted to fix. I think it will be alright. I also cleaned the spark plug. So we're ready, although we'll need to pick up some gas from the gas station. My main worry is whether or not the roof on the house and the garage will take the weight. If we get the full 20 inches, it will be the heaviest snowfall since the blizzard of '79, and perhaps the biggest since 1967. Possibly even bigger than that. If you'd like, I'll box up a few million truckloads and send them to you. COD of course. Guest guest
That's alright. We need rain much more than snow right now. Since it takes about 4 inches of snow to equal 1 inch of rain, I'll take 5 inches of rain in a day. Something like that should make a small bump up in the water levels at the reservoir. I've seen somewhere a kind of line that could be thrown on the roof and pulled down to get rid of some of the snow. Its been a long time so I don't know where that was. In any case, stay safe. I know the houses down here wouldn't standup to 20 inches of snow. In a message dated 1/31/2011 12:23:13 A.M. Guest guest
We'll manage. In a season we might get four feet of snow, but with a maximum single snowfall of 6 or 8 inches. Getting a whole lot all at once won't make much of a difference. It will just take longer to clear out afterwards. Administrator That's alright. We need rain much more than snow right now.
