Reporting from Cairo— The Muslim Brotherhood, the popular Islamic movement long

banned from politics by former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, announced

Saturday that it has formed a political party.

" This party will be independent from the Brotherhood but will coordinate with

it, " Mahmoud Hussein, the Brotherhood's secretary-general, said at a news

conference announcing the formation of the Freedom and Justice party.

And recent polls show they will do well, particularly amongst the middle and upper classes. The ultimate goal of the Muslim Brotherhood is the establishment of a new caliphate going from Morocco to India, perhaps to include Indonesia. That's just the starting point as they have their eyes on Europe and Russia next. There was a story just recently about an Imam telling Russia to add a muslim crescent to the Russian emblem. Most likely this warning will be backed up with terrorism to try to force the change.
