I'm slowly catching >up on the emails that I missed...LOL! I don't really know what the >difference is between a nutritionist and dietician (Jen, are you out >there? LOL), By the way has anyone heard from Jen? I'm kind of worried about her. Been thinking about her a lot, but haven't seen any posts from her. It's been 13-14 years since I graduated from college but from what I recall the difference between a nutritionist and a dietician is schooling and passing a state (?) exam. I have a 4 year degree from UC in Community Nutrition and could call myself nutritionist, i.e., when I worked at Nutri Life I was a nutritionist. I don't know what it technically requires to call yourself a nutritionist, which is kind of scary. When I applied at Craig, you did not have to have a degree in nutrition, but you were still called a " nutritionist " . To be a registered dietician, you must have a 4 year degree and then either get a masters in dietician or go through an accredited dietician program, which I think is an additional 1-2 years of schooling. And THEN you must also pass an exam. I think just passed this exam. I will tell you this though. Although I learned a tremendous amount of information in college, a lot of it was not really applicable to " every day living " . Most of what I've learned as far as every day living has come from my own research and trying to keep apprised of new information, studies, etc. My boyfriend has as much, if not more, knowledge about " useful nutrition " than I do and does not have a degree...he has spent years studying and reading bodybuilding magazines, articles, books, etc. Colleen, who finally checked the airlines and actually found flights roundtrip for $114.00...so her dream my really become reality in being able to meet " the man " ! _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
