Guest guest
Hi Doris, We had a similar issue...we had the scan done in Feb. Dr. G got the report/interpretation right away, but as of our June office visit, he still hadn't received the actual " film " . Laurie said she talked to Brain Matters and they told her they needed a signed medical release authorization form before they could send the scans -- I guess that's in accordance with the (relatively) new HIPPA law. So Laurie gave me a form to sign. In all honesty, though, from a medical standpoint, it didn't really matter that we didn't have the actual scan; Dr. G apparently got all the info he needed based on the interpretation. I really wanted to see it though! The kicker is that at our last appointment on July 7, I forgot to ask about it! :-( Donna > > For those who have used Brain Matters Inc - > have you encountered any problems? Guest guest
ooo I'm not waiting 4 mths to get my son's scans! Mikki from the CA branch had to visit us while we were waiting for the scan. Appears our paperwork was lost. When I asked about the scan information, she assured me we would be getting a pkt within 2-3 wks. Well it'll be 5 wk on Wed. She didn't mention a signed medical release or authorization. I'm not an MD, but I do get more from the colored versions than the written version. I can see Dr Mena at the conference pointing out things .. and I can relate .. well, I guess at this point it's time to call . Thanks for the information! doris > > > > For those who have used Brain Matters Inc - > > have you encountered any problems? Guest guest
This is interesting. We paid 50 dollars and got the complete scan on a disc at dr. Uszler's office. we didn't have to sign anything. we have done this for 3 years now. we will probably get it within a week of having paid for it, in the mail. --- drsmit6 <sjsmith@...> wrote: > ooo I'm not waiting 4 mths to get my son's scans! > Mikki from the CA branch had to visit us while we > were waiting > for the scan. Guest guest
We almost went with Dr Uszler's office (Santa Imaging ctr) because they take BCBS FEP. The cost of the spect would have been less than $100. BUT they were insistant upon either a) putting under leaving the needle stuck in. We've never had to put under and there is no way he's going to leave that needle in. Dr Uszler was pretty tight with this - we had no options. We decided to go with Brain Matters since the last 2 spects were with Carmen. Ummm Brain Matters still needs to iron out a few kinks in their admin process. A rep from the BM Ca. office had to visit to clarify a few things. We were promised the scans, with disc, in 2-3 wks. The scan finally did arrive on Wed (5 wks later) but no disc. The scans are extremely pretty .... they must be using some new updated software. AND Dr Uszler does the evaluations of the BM scans now anyway as Dr Mishken retired. These will be the topic of discussion at tomorrow night's telephone consult I will be calling BM back and inquire as to where the disc is. doris land > > > > > > > > For those who have used Brain Matters Inc - > > > > have you encountered any problems?
