They won't succeed. Democracy may still arise in Egypt, but what Egypt will call a Democracy likely won't be what Americans think of as Democracy. Perhaps it is part arrogance and a large part of ignorance from a terrible education system, that people don't think words might possibly means something different to different people, particularly to people in completely different cultures with different histories, etc.

Just remember, democracy technically means "mob rule" which is why the US had a Republic, or the rule of law.
