Guest guest
Thanks for the information Tammy. I am going to talk Calder's pediatricians and ID doctor about the NIH and see what they think. They have been wonderful and supportive so far. My husband picked the name Calder (as he did our other son's name - ). He used to be an artist and came up with the name, as it is the last name of one of my favorite artists - Calder. It seems to be a perfect fit for Calder. Thanks again. Our doctor >(Rheumi) called us in August to tell us that she would be referring him >to NIH. She had already been talking to Dr Barrios there to get info. >She said there was a long waiting list. We almost named Clay that but I instead named >him after my great uncle which spoiled my brother and I rotten. Guest guest
I think this must be the NIH immune study. http://clinicalstudies.info.nih.gov/detail/A_2006-M-0102.html Caroline If this is the study there is no mention of helping the child and I would opt out Marcia
Guest guest
a few interesting items relating to NIH - I've contacted Dr Swedo numerous times to discuss with her the strep/PANDAS connection as well as any ongoing research into Autism and the immune system. Every time, her secretary calls me and tells me that there are no current plans to do any Autism research. Then this 'looking for volunteers' item comes out . .. hmmmmm - Dr Galpin was once a researcher at NIH for HIV/AIDS. I know he still talks with folks at NIH. I'm curious to know if he has any involvement in this Autism/Immune/regression study. doris land
