Guest guest
The tunnels are part of an scheme to drain the Sahara Aquifer and bring the water to the coastal cities and regions for the people and farming. However, this aquifer will likely never replenish in human time scales and no one is certain what effect it will have on the desert as the water is drained away. One thing might be that the water holes scattered about the desert could dry up. It could also mean the desert would never return to life when the climate changes but always remain a desert. Obama might try some piddly attacks or send in a very small number of troops, not enough to accomplish anything but enough to get in a lot of trouble. What he needs to look at is that Iraq is acting up as well. The revolutions his buddies are spreading are moving into Iraq and Saudi and getting worse in Bahrain. That puts out military in the region and in Afghanistan in increasing danger. I hate to be cynical again, but if this crew is remotely like Clinton, they probably won't care too much what happens to those troops. It is unlikely the media will either since the War on Terror has all but vanished from the evening news under Obama where it was 24/7 bad news under Bush. In a message dated 2/28/2011 2:15:13 P.M.
