Guest guest
Kim - Actually, through the straw program that is what they have you do at the end of the program. Applesauce is great and I've also used Jamba Juices as well. My son LOVED the jamba juices so it was very motivating. Guest guest
My son loves birthday candles---we went through many--watch me blow-- and everyone clapped--took about a week--but he finally got it and everyone clapped for him. I can't perfume my home at all as the candles stay lit for all of 5 minutes before he bloes them all out again. For us--when we got rid of the sippy cup--pronunciation got much better. > > is the fact that he can't blow related to his speech / language delay. He has okay expressive, > very poor receptive. Guest guest
An OT suggested this to me once too. My son will NOT suck thick stuff thru and straw. Only his juice or water. It's his way or the highway here. Re: How do I help my son learn to blow? Also, This isn't directly related, but you can get himto suck thick stuff through a straw, to exercisethese muscles. Applesauce works great. Thiswill also help those who need oral stimulation.--- gfcfmom <gfcfmom> wrote:> is the fact that he can't blow related to his> speech / language delay. Guest guest
My son can already pucker. Will pucker right up and give a big kiss if asked...by anyone. But when you ask him to blow something, be it bubbles, cotton ball, harmonica, whistle, straw, etc. he just taps the item against his mouth in an attempt to imitate but no blowing. Then when you ask again and show again and again and again, he gets upset and pushes you and/or throws the item you want him to blow in/on. Re: How do I help my son learn to blow?
