It's a good day for our group and our collective efforts. We now have a couple

of our

favorite therapies listed in the Autism Research Institute Parent Report Data.

Valtrex

6% Got Worse | 42% no effect | 52% Got Better | 65 Families Reported

It's a start. I'm very pleased to see ARI tracking data, but the numbers are a

bit low and it

doesn't say " The Combination Anti-Infection Therapy, " so some of the reports

could be

just from Valtrex alone or people who are not aware of the healing

regression.... But the

important thing is that it's there and I'm grateful.

MB12 Nasal Spray

15% Got Worse | 29% No Effect | 56% Got Better | 48 Families Reported

They just started collecting data a few months ago, so the numbers are low but

they at

least they are being collected. The better to worse ratio is in the top three

of all

medications listed in the report.

What we may learn about the " Got Worse " is that adding folinic right away (which

is not

collected in the data) might be mixed in and some (some) kids do not tolerate it

well

(some very well and some love it... but some do not tolerate folinic)... OR

maybe the

dosing is too high.

Maybe the dosing should be at 625mcg first rather than 1250mcg, since the adult

dose is

2500mcg. Maybe we should suggest to families to try 625mcg and see from there.

I

would be very curious to see someone who saw some hyperactivity or some negative

effect to consider dropping to 625 and trying again. I've used 625mcg

successfully in the

past, but I couldn't say that it was better than the 1250mcg we started with,

but with this

new data, although its small numbers, it might be telling us something.

All in all, I'm pleased to see positive outcomes in the data and I am grateful

to ARI for

adding them to the ARI Parent Rating.

The full report has a total of 26,000 reports across many vitamins and drugs

will be online

soon.
