The only fruit juice I know that needs to be diluted is the grape juice. This is the only one Dr. says needs to be diluted are grape juice and citrus juices. I believe this is due to the amount of sugars in them but also the acids which alkalinize the system. These juices are very potent cleansers. My guess is the runs were from the prune juice but could possibly be a combination of the two. LOL your five minute walk might just turn into a 10 second sprint. I do understand your concern however. The only reason for you to be taking prune juice is to keep your system moving. If you have regular bowels movements on a daily basis after every meal then you can probably dispense with the prune juice. However, peristalic action, in the intestines, is triggered by food entering the stomach. This does not happen when juices enter the stomach, however, which is why prune juice is part of the cleanse. Sooooooooo, maybe you should walk the dogs first and then prune juice and just continue the cleanse a little longer later into the evening. Just a thought. Always room for improvement and innovation I guess. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. Guest guest
Oh Don, Thanks so much for responding. I'm having a tough time here, with horrendous gurgly sounds coming from my stomach and dashing to the loo with the runs. I was beginning to wonder if that is what is meant my the word " cleanse " {LOL}. I'm not hungry or weak or even dizzy (as I was on the previous fast), but having a tad of stomach cramping so I HAVE diluted the AJ 50/50 to see if it helps. If the gurgling stops I'll resume the full-strength AJ. To heck with the prune juice AND the cayenne, I was so happy to have regular BM's twice a day, after my recent trip where I didn't want to drink the water and got really constipated as a result. From the sublime to the ridiculous! Gotta dash..... and the K9's >The only reason for you to be taking prune juice is to keep your system moving. Are you chewing each mouthful of juice? Thoroughly chewing it? (okay maybe serious swishing would be a better term). AJ can create the runs in some people. Not everyone but some people. Coupled with the prune juice may be just a tad too busy for you, if you catch my drift if you get my meaning. Hehehe It is good that you aren't experiencing any negative effects like you mentioned previously. Personally, I found it best to stay busy with something and just keep a clock handy to make sure I took my dose of juice or water on time. Seems like I was never hungry cause I was too busy to notice. Course after the 4th day I had tons of energy and plenty to spare. At the end of 6 days I was feeling fantastic. I don't remember ever feeling so physically good. That was two years ago. Now I am ready to do it again. Just have to find me a source for the AJ though. Then again I guess I could always press my own daily. That would keep me busy for awhile. LOL Just remember to enjoy what you are doing for your body. Peace be with you and your K9's too. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. Guest guest
Hi Don, Thanks for your counsel. Gotta remember to " chew " the juice (which I wasn't doing). Glad to hear that gurgling is normal, probably not flushing sounds from inside my tummy though!! I'm glad that's over :-) Keeping busy is definitely the key. I know we are not supposed to exert ourselves on a fast, but I just went outside and sawed some small limbs off our elm trees (no more than 2 " and they're softwood, so pretty easy really). I made a bonfire and burned everything - remembering to come inside periodically and check the time for more fluids. I feel GREAT! Not hungry, and have about the same energy as usual and maybe a tad more. The tummy feels a bit better now too, so I'm back to 8 oz undiluted AJ. It WOULD be a good idea to juice as we drink wouldn't it? Talk about fresh squeezed! Oh the K9's are going to need some peace (thank you). I'm thinking of feeding them extra today and putting THEM on a fast too tomorrow.... (they won't get prune juice or even AJ though :-)) Cheers, and the K9's >Gurgling is pretty normal when doing a juice fast/cleanse. Are you chewing each mouthful of juice? Thoroughly chewing it?
