You can keep it either in the cabinet or in the fridge...Mine I know lasts at least 6 months.. that's the longest I ever kept a batch.. I went crazy and made a heck of a batch once... It was about 6 months when the jar was finally empty... I usually keep it in the cabinet and put a small bottle in the fridge as I like it cold...

Let it ferment for several weeks.. it you need some now take out just the amount of liquid you need. When you get ready to strain it, save the pulp... dry it and grind it up.

Take a couple dropperfuls a day is good... or at least 1... if sick take 3-4 dropperfuls every 3 or so hours or 4 times a day etc.... Sharyn Cerniglia <scerniglia@...> wrote:

Okay....I made the Total Tonic, minus the black walnut hulls. (I dohave black walnut tincture on hand, but didn't put that in the mix.)Now....what do I do with it?!?!?How long will it keep in the fridge?Should I add some of the tincture to it?Is this something I should take every day? Once a day, or twice?Sharyn

Wouldn't cooking it kill all the good bugs?

I think that cooking it would kill some of the medicinal properties, so I wouldn't only eat it cooked. Take some raw but using it in cooking would more or less be flavorful by adding some zing to a dish and still somewhat healthy.

Hi ,

Black Walnut hulls are only toxic in large amounts. So is the sage

everyone uses at Thanksgiving. In small quantities that you would be

using it for it will only be toxic to parasites. They do not like the

potassium iodide.

Anne,

It always good to learn from others experiences on this issue, because some of us wonder about the method of production and question the side effects. I for one appreaciate the topic and everyones input. Total tonics have been used for thousands of years. The only thing that has changed really is our awareness of the internal reactions to the herbs, because now things are documented for all to read and understand. As well, individuals balance the receipe for the desired effect of their needs.. I wasn't aware that many used tonic for sinius infections, now I know. Debra

Hi Debra,

To use it for sinus infections, it gets a bit intense. at least in my experience. You actually have to snuff the pulverized, dehydrated mash. Only about twice a pin head size bit. NOT the push pin size, but the sowing pin size. But it will make you do a dance you've never done before. Done on a regular basis, 2-3 times a day will clear up most minor infections. But as I said, or implied, it is not for the meek. It does burn. I used to snort Meth, and I can't honestly say which burns worse.

I wish you Positive Energy on your path!

As always,

Peace, love, laughter

Debra, you are right in that we all use Total Tonic for our own reasons. On the other side of the coin, what works for one does not necessarily work for another.

Sorry, I've been on vacation... You got alot of good info though.

Here is the recipe under Herbal Remedies

Complete Organic Sulphur with Turmeric Tonic (AKA Complete Tonic)

One handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw onions

One handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw garlic

One handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw ginger

One handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw horseradish

One half handful or about 1/4 cup or 2 ounces of chopped organic raw habaneros

--or--

1/4 cup or 2 ounces more or less, depending on your tastes of powedered

cayenne (hottest you can get)

1/4 cup or 2 ounces of Tumeric powder

Put all ingredients into blender and add enough organic apple cider vinegar

to blend. Pour all into a large glass jug and fill with as much ACV as you can. Best to use either 1 gallon or 4 liter glass bottles. Of course don't let

that stop you if you don't have these types of bottles. Cover and place in

your cupboard for two weeks.

Begin this process on the new moon and strain it on the full moon. After straining dehydrate the mash that is left over and powder it up. Makes a wonderful spice for you cooking or on raw foods. Also works really well for clearing out the sinuses.

Bottle the liquid and store in refrigerator and take as much as needed. Normal dose would be a teaspoonful three times per day with meals, before meals or after meals whichever suits you.

This formula will boost your immune system naturally and help to regulate

your circulatory system. It is also a tremendous source of organic sulphur and

one of the most best and most natural antibiotic you can find.

The addition of Turmeric makes this formula even more anti-inflammatory.

Turmeric is also an excellent free radical scanvenger, due to its antioxidant

properties. Turmeric is very good for arthritis, rheumatism, heart disease and ny other disease where free radical damage is apparent. It has even shown good

results in treating certain forms of cancer and in inhibiting the growth of

cancer cells.
