Guest guest
My son was *constantly* sick with bronchitis. He would go on an abx, it would get better and then as soon as that round of abx was over, he would have it again within a week. We did this for a long time. The only thing that's helped him is a long term abx (which we'll be doing a trial elimination in the spring to see if he still needs it - we are on Erythromycin), antivirals and antifungals. It's the only thing that keeps him from getting bronchitis and every other thing that comes around. Now when he gets sick it's generally very mild and gone within a day or two and he doesn't catch *every little thing* going around. Unfortunately the flu is one of those things it hasn't helped and we all got it pretty bad. It seems to take forever to go away. Symptomatically, he was much less affected than anyone else in the house but we all still have a lingering cough after a little over a month. That's what helped us.CherylDoes anyone here have any experience with this (Post Viral Bronchial Hyper-Reactivity Syndrome)?A good friend of ours son just got diagnosed with this, he seems to have a long lingering cough after he gets any cold or virus...A little background, I babysat for this boy from the time he was around 7 Months old-almost 2 years old (and actually knew him and his Mom, my good friend from a local Mom's Club and met when her son was about 3 Months old)...and her son has always been on the later end of normal for most 'milestones', and has very low muscle tone....I have never talked specifically about her son with her, however, we have always talked in length about my two sons (one is within a few weeks of age as her son)...thru all of their eval's/therapies/etc...in hopes she would 'let me in' with IF they have had concerns about their son...but, even though she has totally told me many really private things, she has never said anything about questioning his development or anything, so I havent mentioned it either....just continuing to let her in to our lives and the boys, and now especially the biomedical side of things..They recently moved away, but still come back in state to visit, so we mainly chat my email, and she emailed me that he was just diagnosed with this and he is now on a nebulizer...I mentioned that this sounds an awful like what my son Ethan had each time he would get a cold, but they just told me that it was his asthma and to continue with nebulizers and his steriods (which this little boy is also on, and he also has had bronchitis a LOT throughout his little life, he will be 4 in May)...Anyway, I am trying to gather info for her specifically about this condition and roll it into bomedical things that we have also been doing with our kids, in hopes she can try some of these things too because since starting the GFCF diet and bio-med, Ethan is OFF of his daily allergy and asthma meds and has only needed his neb ONCE on ONE day during a cold in late last year...and since has had only one cold after that, and needed NO nebulizer...for Ethan, its a miracle in itself..)So, please forward any info you may have and as well as any biomed treatments that may have worked for you...Thanks!AngieMom to Ethan, , and
