I was taught this many many years ago by a Chiro and have used that technique ever since. It always helps me. If it is too much gas in the system lay on your stomach for a few minutes and then sit straight up and you usually can get rid of the excess gas that way. Yes, when I would lay down the reflux would get much worse. Anything acid makes it much worse. Hope it gets better soon. Deborah
Guest guest
His story sounds like so many that have been cured by the SCD diet. :-) He should really start researching that. I hear over and over on the lists how the diet cures his types of problems http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/testimonies/testimonies.htm Lots of testimonies How and why the diet works: http://www.pecanbread.com/scdscience.html Carol in IL doihavtasay@...Mom to 7 blessings including , 3 with DS and Grandma to Micah and Jonah. Guest guest
I had him taking between 1/4 and 1/2 teaspoon, two to three times a day. We tried dissolving it in water or juice at first, and then vegicaps...that's the usual dosage I've seen work for ulcers; you think it's too much? Thanks for the article (reading it now...) -ST Suzanne wrote: > Cayenne can upset a stomach ... How much was he taking and for how > long? Take a little in some juice every day.... Guest guest
That is so funny that you see it that way! :-) I see it the exact opposite. The ONLY thing you CAN buy for this diet is the book. ;-) There is NO pre-made foods allowed. There are no SCD legal lines of stuff. There is no yogurt you can buy, I wish there was!!! :-) I think the reason the book is pushed is that it's the only source of income for Elaine, who is 82 years old now btw and still keeps a daunting schedule in order to help people. She sometimes gets on the list servs and spends hours answering questions and helping people with out any charge at all. Even now the moderators will ask her about something that stumps them and she ALWAYS helps. She is one amazing woman. The fact of the matter is you could very easily do this diet with out the book and using those two websites and a listserv. But once you get to know Elaine and the facts, you will WANT a book both to support and thank her, and also to have a better understanding of why this diet works. So for $15, you have ALL you'officialy' need to do the SCD. Other than cookbooks, that's all there IS to buy! ;-) That is pretty cheap.... Now will need some new equipment and stuff to cook with? yes! But what you buy and from whom, is all up each person. The listservs post all kinds of cheap ways to do things. like making yogurt in your oven as opposed to buying a yogurt maker, affordable and legal starters etc. So please... go back and re-read the web sites and you will see that other than the book to buy in order to support Elaine's continued work to promote this diet, there is nothing else. The book is ALL she sells. This was our old list serv http://lyris.dundee.net/read/search/results?forum=elaineschildren & words=Elaine & max=10 & orderby=HdrFrom_+DESC & Not sure if you can still search the archives for Elaine's responses or not. We have moved over to because lyris was going to start charging and they wanted to keep it free. Elaine has not been on the list serv as she has been doing a lot of speaking at DAN conferences this year. Psalm 127 Hmm, I'm not sure what I think of that...it sounds like a good idea, except the whole "you need to buy the book...buy the book...buy the yogurt...buy the book..." thing. I find it hard to trust the altruistic intentions of people obviously out to make a profit...don't you?To clarify, I'm not saying they wouldn't have anything decent to offer for sale--Doc does!--but Doc also offers the *information* you need to improve your health for free, which is one of the reasons I tend to trust him. This site is very specific about withholding information, and even urging people not "not attempt the diet" without the book. Meh. Fishy. Thanks! -ST --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. I don't know but this sounds a lot like a friend I have here in Slovenia. This man cannot eat anything but chicken. I don't know what else he eats but chicken is the main food he eats. He says that most anything else he eats just tears him up. His problem? H. pylori overgrowth along with systemic Candida. He absolutely refuses to do anything that will upset this fragile truce he has with the H. pylori and candida. As long as he keeps eating chicken he is all right. Just found this interesting. Have you tried any slippery elm gruel for him? Wheat grass juice? I know you will find a solution soon. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man.
