What is the usual dosing of Valtrex?

Well I have an appt with our DAN dr next week to ask him about

prescribing Valtrex, but Im just wondering, what is the normal dosage

that is prescribed? I believe I have heard 750 mg a day , divided into

3 doses. My son is about 40 pounds and Im wondering if this is what

would be right for him. Thanks all!
