Donna,

THANK YOU and that is so awesome!!

I have been feeling like we're on a roller coaster that is getting more and

more wild as we try to sort through SSRIs for my son. I'm so glad there is

light at the end of this tunnel! I feel so badly for him - I cannot imagine

what he must be going through.

Glowing report from school

I had to share this with all of you...especially for those moms and

dads here who are at the beginning of the journey, or are going

through one of those awful regressions we all experience with our kids...

We've been through a terrible summer of trying to find the " right "

SSRI for our son. I've felt like we haven't really " seen " him for

nearly 3 months. Well, a few days ago, he finally started to " come

back " to us out of the fog and it was a joy to see! After nearly 3

weeks of reports from school ranging from " difficult and spacy " to

" not TOO bad " , I received this from his teacher ( is fully

included in a regular 3rd grade class) last Thursday:

" Today has been GREAT! not only worked diligently on D.O.L.

(Daily Oral Language), he worked ahead on tomorrow's work and then

used his correcting pen (on his own and 1st time) to correct his paper.

" read from the overhead and wrote all of the capitalization

exercises given. An English practice test was given and worked

on his own, FINISHED and had time to read.

" Speech was refreshing and his participation was enthusiastic.

" Once back in class (Math...) got noisy, but only for a minute.

He then read and answered questions in the book and afterward, sat up

straight, and was actively listening and participating in

teacher-directed class learning and discussion. "

There IS light at the end of the tunnel...sometimes it gets obstructed

when we get bogged down with the day-to-day roller coaster. This is

just a reminder to keep a journal and keep track of every piece of

progress...you can look back, especially on those tough days, and

remind yourself of how far your precious child has really come.

This is great!! I know how relieved you are too to see a good

report coming home ;)

BTW, what SSRI did you settle on, and did Dr G adjust Tenex recently?

Thanks
