Guest guest
Kristie, I'm with you...I see my son's soul as lost (as in floundering, still finding the way) more than lost (as in gone forever). I really want to see this movie when it comes out. Is there a release date yet? I LOVE Hawaii. My husband and I magically met on Maui, and it's still very dear to our hearts. I hope to have a vacation home there down the road, but not a place to raise our children. Kristy From another paradise, San Diego Re: Really loved this trailer!!!! I see what you are saying. I don't consider my own child a " lost soul " but I do work daily to have a child engaged with me, strong attention, strong affect, strong joint attention....are these qualities that are missing and " lost " from him right now? Yes they are! But I pray, and work, and research and pray some more that one day these will be " found " in my son. So while I agree the thought that the boy being a " lost soul " is morbid and terminology I may not use..I definitely see his point of view. The two things that I really focused in on in this film were: 1.) the overwhelming feeling of so many options for therapy a parent faces in the world of autism..see him at his first DAN conference with the beautiful Coldplay song playing....moves to 2.) the family in the beautiful water of Hawaii smiles swimming and happiness. I know not all families with autism experience this because perhaps they are dealing with further severity...but I could totally relate to the love and devotion and fun it can be with my son, especially in the water! and then the anxiety it can be facing research and wanting those moments of love between the family to be 100% of the time and not just in the water or ocean. Did anyone notice the man who is the father films in Hawaii the series Lost. I mean seriously beautiful filming especially scenes in the waters of Hawaii. Do they have services there? If so perhaps it's time to move!
