Guest guest
We just got an immune panel back and everything is low except CD4 and that is borderline low (just barely above the normal range). Our CD4/CD8 ratio is pretty high. Dr. G says it's an indication of a stressed immune system. What can you do? Proceed with the protocol until the immune system starts normalizing I guess. We've been at this for 3.5 years and the numbers are still out of whack. I would be happy to hear from anyone who knows more about this than I do. It would probably help myself and . Thanks, Rhoda NK at 3 supposed to be 19+ Hi, What does a low NK of 3 (norm 19+) mean? How do you address this? Thanks so much. --------------------------------- Get your own web address for just $1.99/1st yr. We'll help. Small Business.
Guest guest
Hi Rhoda - Can I ask what your child's CD4/CD8 ratio was, and what it is supposed to be? I wonder... if you go to an immunologist or infectious disease, would they consider NK cells at 2% or 3% low? Or would they say their usual 'within normal range' that I hear all the time? Thanks... --- Rhoda Boyd <rboyd@...> wrote: > We just got an immune panel back and everything is > low except CD4 and that is borderline low (just > barely above the normal range). Guest guest
My son's CD4/CD8 ratio was 3.76. Normal range is 1.0 to 1.6. It may be measured differently in Canada than in the U.S. so I'm not sure if those numbers will be helpful to you. I think it was even higher when we did an immune panel in June (four point something). We are being referred to an immunologist so I will share what he/she has to say with the list afterward. It may take a long while to get in to see him/her though. We did see an infectious disease specialist because we don't have an immunologist in our city and you have to go through the infectious guys before being referred. He didn't seem overly alarmed at any of the numbers but he was willing to give us the referral.
