Guest guest
Hi, I have an 8.5 y.o. child who weighs about 65 lbs. The DAN doctor recommended we put him on 500 mg of Valtrex 3 times a day (1500mg/day). My question is: do any of you have older kids that are on such a dose or does that sound way too high? He told me that younger, lighter kids are typically on 250mg/3times/day, so I supposed it makes sense to make ours higher, but it's still something I'd like some feedback on from others who have btdt. Thanks!
Guest guest
I don't have an 8 year old but yes, that sounds right for an 8 year old. An adult would take 3 *grams* a day for shingles. 1500mg is typical for his age.CherylHi,I have an 8.5 y.o. child who weighs about 65 lbs. Guest guest
Our DAN wanted us to put our 5 y.o. on 500 3 x per day however we've never been able to get higher than 250-500-250 due to yeast, even though we are low carb, low sugar and on 400 mg ketoconozole. Good luck.
