Guest guest
Hi Aylwin, Could you go into specifics step by step what sort of NAET program you were on? Did you pay for it out of pocket or did insurance help? There are some practitioners here on Maui, mostly acupunturists and a chiropractor and a ND.Thanks.~Kulia - In CFAlliance , " J. Guest guest
Hi Kulia, I just want to interject here about the NAET. I tried it for a very short amount of time and I found a practitioner recommended by my psych, who used the guy for his son. In any case, the doc was willing to give me a reduced rate but was not covered by any insurance. He told me to try 5 sessions and if I couldn't tell anything was different then that would be a good trial. I do think that the NAET was helping some, but even at the reduced rate I couldn't afford to keep it up. And I didn't see a huge difference in how I felt, though like I said I only did a very short trial. Sandrea
Guest guest
Hi Kulia, I did the whole, proper NAET protocol…in my opinion that is the only way to go if you are chemically sensitive and all the rest. There are 12 initial, basic treatments you go through first, and certain things you have to avoid for 24 hours after each treatment. Then it gets individualized. The practitioner tests and clears for any and every thing you may be reacting to, including one’s own hormones, neurotransmitters, chronic infections, etc.etc. My person is a very experienced acupuncturist as well as having many other tools, training, and experience. She is highly trained and experienced with NAET. As it has a basis in Chinese Medicine I think that’s the best. Anyone who offers a half-assed version is not going to do you much good…I’ve tried derivative treatments and they are just not effective…it’s really important to follow the whole protocol. It is a commitment. It’s important to find someone with a lot of training and experience who is really professional with it. I live in Canada so I have no idea if you would be covered by insurance, does it cover acupuncture? If you went to an acupuncturist it may be covered. I grabbed my practitioner as soon as she moved here and was setting up practice, so she gave me a really good deal…I had waited 6 years for a qualified person, as I had heard it was a good solid treatment for allergy and chemical sensitivity, and not a whacky wonder cure. The upshot is not that I have gotten well, but have been able to resume something like a normal diet, cured my IBS (amazing!), and my chemical and scent sensitivities are very much improved or gone altogether (depending on the substance). I had severe and even anaphylactic reactions, so this is a huge improvement! Good luck Kulia, I think of you often and it’s good to hear from you! Guest guest
Hi Sandrea. Yes, as I said that’s the problem…your person did not follow the proper protocol, and that is the only way it works. Just as with conventional allergy shots, the body must be led down the road, and if you do not do the 12 basic treatments first you lay no foundation. What a shame. Guest guest
Theres a guy in s. california, Dr. Erkfritz and that is ALL he does....he is highly respected and has helped a lot of people and if you contacted him I'm sure he would give you some input.......I investigated it and spoke to two people who swear by it even though they didn't believe it could work....think its like anything, you can just try it and see - it can't jurt. It also depends highly on who is administering your treatment/qualifications...I couldn't find anyone qualified in my area...
