Guest guest
Recently the Kindersite carried out a initial survey of users of the website to start to understand how and who uses the Kindersite. One of questions we asked users, is if they used the Kindersite in special needs situations and about 10% responded positively. A listing of the Special Needs areas is shown on the survey. What surprised us most was the wide range of special needs that are using the Kindersite and also that Psychologists and Speech Therapists are using the Kindersite for assessment purposes. In the narrative area of the responses a number of special needs parents, educators and specialists have made some limited comments as well. The full results of the survey are available in PDF format from the Home page of the Kindersite and you are welcome to examine the results. The survey must be placed in context, of course, the results do not mean that Special Needs parents and educators are saying that there is any theraputic value but only that they use the Kindersite as a resource with their special needs students and children. To understand this issue from a theraputic basis would take a much deeper and more prolonged study, anybody interested?. I hope this is of interest. phson, Executive Director Kindersite Project http://www.kindersite.org Where children play and teachers learn
