Guest guest
My daughter is gfcf and has undigested apples, pears and blueberries in her stool. Should we be giving enzymes, cooking these foods or try scd diet? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
Guest guest
What worked for us was to only eat fruit on empty stomach and with yck. We went from foul diarrhea, to food in stool, to formed stool and food being digested. This took 2 years. When digestion is poor, we found that steaming vegetables was better than raw. My kids can digest raw kale or carrots for example, but lightly steamed they can. Cultured vegetables served with meals good thing to do for bacteria and enzymes. Houston enzymes good too. > > My daughter is gfcf and has undigested apples, pears and blueberries in > her stool. Should we be giving enzymes, cooking these foods or try scd > diet? Guest guest
, Thanks for all your help. We've been doing some BED. My daughter can't tolerate the yck. We just made our first batch of cultured veggies but they're not ready yet. I'm starting to steam all veggies and remove the skin from fruits. My daughter is 21 so she is very stubborn about certain foods that she wants. What did you find to be most important in healing the gut? Are you doing any scd? Are you using nut flours? Which houston enzymes do you use? Sorry for so many questions. We are also doing Bioset with a homeopath that has helped a lot, but the big thing seems to still be her gut and yeast. Thanks. Guest guest
In what way can't she tolerate the yck? My son's behaviors and eating got worse on it, although his stools got better. I'm assuming it may bother his stomach though, since he's now not eating as well. Re: undigested food in stool- need advice What worked for us was to only eat fruit on empty stomach and with yck. Guest guest
I agree with in that my first question is how are you assessing that she can't tolerate yck? Time, applying the steps the best I can, colon cleansing helped us. Steps including food combining, remove sugars in flours/fruits, soak flours (yes we use nut flours and millet/quinoa), ocean vegetables, good oils, 80/20 rule, follow my instincts. I'm sure in the future it will be the instinct of the doc and family to create a protocol and order that will work for individual kids. I'm sure we are trying to do this now, but we're still so much in the collecting data phase. There are lots of things you can do to help, but I think the key is the right combination and timing of therapies. I bet Methyl B 12 will be good at different stages for kids. I don't have data to back up what I am saying, but I wonder if my son would have responded to the shots 2 years ago before we worked so hard on diet. I share this because I hate to see a parent stop an intervention with the idea that it doesn't work. Whether biomed or diet I think if something isn't working, we need to first understand " what does not working mean, " and second " consider revisiting a therapy later when the body may be ready to accept and use the intervention. " I know when I first gave my son yck he didn't do well on it. This was my opinion because of his behaviors. Looking back maybe his reaction was a good thing. Maybe it meant the yck was helping to clear his body. I didn't know what to do, so I stopped and reintroduce at a later time. Maybe his yeast load came down with removal of other foods making yck at a later time not throw his body into such chaos. I would guess that our kids are in rabbit holes they can't get out of. So it's a guessing game giving the body what it needs and helping the body figure a way to clear itself. One more thing, I think we are all so traumatized that autism happened in our homes without us even knowing at first, that we are so panicked with every reaction. We weren't watching before because we didn't know an epidemic was happening. Now we're on the other extreme of looking at every detail. Both can be bad places. Hope this helps, let me know. Follow your instincts, you know her better than anyone. > > > > My daughter is gfcf and has undigested apples, pears and blueberries > in > > her stool. Guest guest
She has a sensitivity to it, so her behavior also gets bad- hyper, aggressive. We even tried to clear it with the homeopath and that didn't help, so I guess I'm not really sure what it does to her. it helped her stools also. I think I might try a different kind of juice and see if that helps. Re: Re: undigested food in stool- need advice In what way can't she tolerate the yck?
