Guest guest
Yes, you do have to make the initial visit with Dr. Goldberg in person. I live in Oklahoma, & was under the impression that it could all be done long distance, and they said he would have to see the child first. I think it's very beneficial to the parents to meet Dr. Goldberg in person, too & get a real since of his passion for helping our children. It does cost for plane fare & hotel to get there, but in the big scheme of things, that's not too much in order to help our kids. --- meljackmom <meljackmom@...> wrote: > It is just my speculation, but I do not believe Dr. > G would begin > treatment on a patient he has never seen. Guest guest
On another list I'm on, a mom recently posted that she got free airfare from Southwest for medically necessary travel. The mom had to complete a form and the doctor they were seeing had to complete one. The contact info is: Michele Civic & Charitable Contributions Southwest Airlines P.O. Box 36611 Dallas, TX 75235 (214) 792-3733 Note: You have to have your dr. appt. scheduled before contacting Michele. Guest guest
This is policy for all doctor's or at least the ones that I have worked for. It is required by law for a doctor to see the patient for at least one visit before providing any medical care. I know when I worked for a doctor in Alaska that people came from all over the world to have their thyroid condition treated but once they had their initial visit they could be treated via, phone, fax and lab results. Of course we did require medical documentation that the person was being followed by a primary physician. I do remember reading on this list someone saying that their child has been with Dr. Goldberg 5, 6 years or so and only had to see him in his office that one time; after that, they have always worked with him over the telephone.
