Guest guest
I've never heard this. My son doesn't eat either because he tested allergic to both. I knew about the eggs; he broke out in hives and vomited, but bananas were his favorite food. Guest guest
They aren't bad for all kids, just some. If you suspect he's intolerant do a challenge. Remove them for a week or so and then add it back one at a time to see if there are any reactions. Reactions can be very subtle - it could be phenols, it could be sugars, etc. so it's not always easy to tell.CherylMy son's allergy tests showed he tolerates eggs and bananas but I have read so many posts about kids not doing well with them ... why?gfcfmom
Guest guest
Actually they are low in phenols (my son can eat an unlimited amount without enzymes but can't have medium or high phenols without enzymes) but they are high in amines. You can take phenol enzymes to help with phenols but I don't think there are enzymes out there for amines. Bonita Re: Why are eggs and bananas bad for ASD kids?
