Guest guest
Hi My son is on SCD now for 13 days although he has barely eaten so it is more of an elimination diet. The later part of the first week he was more sleepy even took a nap a few days, I thought maybe he was weak from not eating. The second week he has developed a nasty cold and has been in bed for 13hrs.(VERY uncharacteristic of my son) I am writing this at 1:37. He did wake up at 12:00ish to go potty and wanted a tissue to clean his nose. I noticed when he woke that he had a kew little raised red dots on his trunk. Looked like a bite would look like. I did give him something to drink he drank it and went back to bed. My childs diet was so so so bad before french fries pizza mac cheese etc Could his body be reacting so strongly that he has flu like reaction or am I just wanting this so much to be detox that I am creating a story that just isn't true. Any advice on the rash or illness would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Guest guest
I remember asking Dr. Meilke what to expect with yeast die off and she said "like they have the flu--lethargic, on the couch, not wanting to move." So your son could either be sick or, yes, it may be die off. How are his BMs???lasbirdie wrote: Hi My son is on SCD now for 13 days although he has barely eaten so it is more of an elimination diet. Guest guest
My nephew looked sick and was extremely lethargic for about two weeks when he started on SCD. That was few years ago. From all that I've heard and read, your experience is not uncommon in the beginning. He only stayed on the diet for about 6 months or less, but saw many many gains during that time period and did not regress. He is no longer considered on the spectrum, just has a slight motor processing delay. What is the likely hooh that this is die off?
