Guest guest
Since I'm not suppose to eat wheat, but do anyhow, when I want a sandwhich, I usually use a soft tortilla shell and just roll my sandwhich up. Not so much bread that way, but something to hold my other stuff and taste good. Terina
Guest guest
Hi all! My two children, Chaia and Skyler, have been on the protocol for years now. We have always used Wonder Classic Bread for our sandwiches. However, about three months ago they changed their packaging. I never thought to check the ingredients again because I knew that it was o.k. when we started.... This morning I read the ingredients and it now contains whey. Piggly Wiggly and Wal-Mart breads also have milk ingredients. I finally found some Sunbeam bread that did not contain any milk ingredients. Does anyone have any other suggestions? It's so nice to be able to fix a peanut butter sandwich every once and a while when the kids are hungry, BUT I don't want to expose them to any milk ingredients. Boy, just when you think you have all this figured out..... Guess you never stop learning, huh? Thanks for listening. Shona
Guest guest
Hi Shona, I just noticed this change a couple of months ago -- this is SO FRUSTRATING! Just goes to show you have to check ingredients every time you buy something. It's been nearly impossible to find a white bread with no milk ingredients. After searching exhaustively, I found that Trader Joe's has it's own brand of white bread ( " Mom's White Bread " ) that *I think* is milk-free, and Milton's potato bread (also available at Trader Joe's -- possibly at Whole Foods) is delicious and also milk-free. Sourdough, French bread, and challah (egg bread) are usually milk-free. My son loves peanut butter and low-sugar fruit spread on Sourdough bread. Sara Lee used to have an acceptable potato bread, but they just changed their recipe to include " whole grains " , so I had to stop buying that one...sigh... HTH, Donna > > Hi all! Guest guest
Buy the cheapest white bread you can find. The little bit of milk won't set them off as much as the Peanut butter which helps the virus grow. Elyse Goldberg -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
I had no idea that peanut butter helps viruses grow. Do you mind if I ask why and how? >From: " Elyse Goldberg " <elyse-g@...> >Reply- >< > >Subject: Re: sandwiches >Date: Fri, 27 Oct 2006 12:00:49 -0700 > >Buy the cheapest white bread you can find.
